Introduction
SimPro is a reseller of Microcell's PCS service. This means that SimPro is not a new network, but rather sells PCS services using Microcell's GSM equipment (the same equipment that Fido uses). Therefore there will be absolutely NO difference in coverage and service quality, but there ARE differences in both costs and phone choices.
Plans
SimPro only has retail stores in the Greater Toronto and Greater Vancouver areas. You can also purchase a handset from their website if you live outside these areas. SimPro offers services in all the Microcell PCS served locations across Canada (Victoria, Vancouver, Whistler, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto, Quebec, Montreal, etc.).
All plans include: Call Waiting, Conference Calling, and up to 1000 minutes of Call Forwarding ($4.95/month if you exceed this amount). Additional options are also available -- see the Monthly Comparison page to see their rates.
In my dealings with SimPro, I have found that their staff (either at the head office or at retailers in Vancouver) are poorly trained and cannot answer complex questions beyond what plans are available for sale. SimPro seems to target its products primarily at the Asian-Canadian community and in my dealings with them I quite often have had language communication problems.
